Today was an early start at 815am for the cruise and again I was up with 10 minutes to spare. We piled into a van and were taken out to Walvis Bay. We waited around in a café and had breakfast while the guide got the boat ready and then we boarded the boat in the rather rough sea and headed out.
The first thing that happened was that a seal actually jumped onto the boat, and we were not only allowed to pat the seal, but we were allowed to sit next to him and give him a hug. When it was my turn, the seal decided he was very comfortable and decided to lie down on me. It was pretty funny, but I did smell like a wet seal for the rest of the day.
We went further out and dolphins jumped out of the water around the boat. We also saw a couple of random penguins and other birds. We stopped for lunch and champagne near this massive ship wreck, that was shrouded in fog and looked really creepy.
When we got back to town, Siobhan and I went out for a walk around and went out for lunch. We went back and had a bit of a nap, before we joined the others at Tiger Bar. We left Tiger Bar pretty much straight away and went and had fish and chips for dinner.
Yngvar and I were amazed that we could get sushi in Namibia. Everyone except Yngvar and I piked out and the two of us went to meet the other half of the group at cool bananas. I managed to return to my old Turkey ways, by dancing on a bench for most of the night, in lieu of the bar. There are some really crazy photos, unfortunately, most of them are on someone else’s camera. Everyone piked out at about 2am, except me and Emmett, who seemed determined to stay out. We gave up when we realised nothing else was open, otherwise we probably would have been out until sun up.
