Our start today was a 5:45am, very painful. We met in the lobby and drove to the harbour for our snorkelling tour. We boarded our boat and set off for the Molokini Crater. We were given snorkelling gear and off we went. The snorkelling wasn’t as good as in Sharm el Sheikh but is was still pretty cool. The only part that wasn’t was when I swam through a load of jellyfish, which stung a bit.
We got back on the boat after about an hour and proceeded to the next spot. On the way we saw two humpback whales and one of the breached right in front of us. It was something truly majestic and I will never forget that whale launching itself out of the water as long as I live.
We got to the next spot and jumped in, and we got to swim with sea turtles which was amazing. We also saw manta rays and the guide even brought up and octopus for us to have a look at. I got the octopus wrapped around my fingers. Something most girls would find awful, but me being me found it really cool.
After our snorkeling trip we went to the Maui Aquarium, it was nice to see all the fish up close but kind of an anti-climax after snorkeling with the octopus, turtles and whale breaching.
I decided to have a bit of a nap and then lie by the pool, overlooking the ocean and listen to Frank. I listened to the words Fairytales can come true, it can happen to you… and loved the fact that I was living a dream and best of all, doing it for free.
That night we went for a dinner and site inspection at the Four Seasons Maui, which was the single most beautiful hotel I had ever seen. We had the most amazing dinner there and watched an amazing sunset from the outdoor restaurant which was about 100m from the beach.
