A bath solves everything – Fethiye

Today I set out from Köycegiz, with the same annoying bus driver, he seemed a bit placated today. By the end of yesterday I’d had it with him, arguing with me in front of the passengers, swearing under his breath and just generally annoying me, so I called his boss. It must have worked as I had absolutely no trouble out of him today. Unfortunately, the passengers had already formed an opinion of him and those are hard to change.

I took everyone to Saklikent gorge and most people went off tubing, which I decided against in favour of lying in a hammock for most of the day. Just as we were about to leave the flying carpet tour showed up and Assim was driving the bus. I pointed him out to my passengers and said wait till you meet this driver, he’s amazing not all Fez drivers are like our guy. Assim came over to us “Hello darling” he said and gave me a big hug and lifted me off the ground. “Why can’t you be driving my bus I said” I had so much fun with him on my last circuit. I took my group out in Fethiye and he ended up pushing me around in a shopping trolley, which made all the passengers laugh.

After my amazing Turkish bath

We drove back to Fethiye and checked into Hotel Horizon. I hate this place! The people there are awful and this time they actually tried to overcharge my passengers, so as you can imagine they were very angry, so I had that crisis to deal with and ended up yelling at them.

I decided to go down to Fethiye for some retail therapy and ended up having a really good Turkish bath. Theres nothing I love more than sitting on the Stone steps in a 400 year old Turkish bath house and having some random Turkish guy wash my hair for me. This one was rather cheeky and managed to find all my ticklish spots while he was soaping me up. I ended up giggling the whole time until he threw the freezing water over me, after being in the sweat room!

I went out shopping and bought a few presents for people back home and also bought myself a new lamp…surprise, surprise. I walked up the massive hill back to the hotel and went to bed. There is no one on my bus tomorrow, so I am staying in Kaş and doing my visa run the day after tomorrow to the Grek Island of Meis.
