The W Hotel - West Hollywood
CA 90028, United States
Rating: 4 Stars
Location: The opposite end of the Walk of Fame to the Chinese Theatre
Nearby: Red Hop on, Hop off bus stop - Hollywood & Vine Metro Station - Walk of Fame
Details: You walk into this hotel and immediately it's strikingly beautiful and an old school, Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe kind of way. The sunken lobby has a leather trimmed bar, with leather studded seats and a big double stair case, carpeted in red of course, with pictures of the stars adorning the walls.
The rooms are a good size and ours had two double beds in them, which were slightly uncomfortable if I'm fairly honest. Double bedsin the states, really aren't big enough for two people and Darren and I ended up sleeping in a bed each at one point. The bathroom was beautiful and the hotel is very new, or at least has been kept looking very new. It has a lovely roof top pool with sun loungers and a pool bar.
It is not a cheap affair at least $500 USD per night, and again it lives up to my pet hate, of an expensive hotel at with little value for money, no free WiFi (cost $19.95 for a 24 hour pass) I supposed they feel if you can pay their per night price you must have money to burn. Someone should let them in on the secret that even rich people like to think they are getting value for money.
The location in West Hollywood isn't bad, you can walk down to the Chinese Theatre and it is on the walk of fame (which is a very long walk) but it's more for epople who want to be close to Hollywood's swanky bars and exclusive night clubs.
