Location: Not really Beverley Hills, Not really Hollywood
Details: This is a beautiful boutique hotel at which I got an opening special, at the regular price of $500 USD per night I would never have stayed here, even though Kimpton is my favourite hotel brand. The hotel itself is wonderful and the WiFi is free if you're a member, membership is free and you just join up at the Kimpton website. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are just the right size for one person, the bathrooms have amazing rain showers and the beds are super comfortable.
There is a lovely view from the roof and they have a stunning roof top pool. The only thing that's a real let down is its not quite Hollywood, not quite Beverley Hills location. It's a fair hike on foot to Beverley Hills and and it probably not walking distance to Hollywood and if you wanted to walk that far, I wouldn't recommend it, as it is through the middle of Wilshire Boulevard which is a bit shady. There is a red sightseeing bus stop opposite the Le Brea Tar Pits which are just down the street and this will get you up to Hollywood or into Beverley Hills, you can also get the local bus which is much cheaper and fairly easy to navigate. The other issue with the location is the lack of restaurants around the place, the only thing with in walking distance is a rather seedy looking McDonalds, which pretty much forces you to eat at the hotel if you don't feel like making the trek into either Hollywood, Downtown LA or Beverley Hills.
